Why even go to a music conference or show case?

It may be tempting to just watch videos from music panels but not go to the conference itself. With all of the video access to music conferences and panels, one might ask why even go to a music conference or show case? I ask this question too because I realize that some people don't go to music conferences, seminars, open mics, talent showcases, etc. for various reasons. If you've read my hitsamillion.blogspot.com blog, then you know I'm a proponent of attending music conferences, seminars and open mics, and artist showcases and I gave a lot of advice about networking at these conferences, and even rated some that I attended. But to get the most out of these events, I would like to also direct you to JaWar's blog which, I think, has the best advice on making the most of music conferences, seminars, showcases, and open mics. In fact, he's written a book called the Truth About Record Pools, Music Conferences, Talent Shows and Open Mics. The Truth about Record Pools, Music Conferences,Talent Shows and Open Mics will:
  • help you find music conferences in your area,
  • help you choose the right music conferences to attend,
  • help you take full advantage of those music conferences so that you won't feel robbed,
  • help you brand yourself as an artist,
  • help you prepare for the conference,
  • help you network,
  • help you stand out as an artist,
  • help you reduce the cost of attending these conferences,
  • help you determine what to do after you attend a conference;
  • and so much more!

So check out JaWar's blog, http://www.gomusicconnection.com/truth.html and buy The Truth about Record Pools, Music Conferences,Talent Shows and Open Mics. You'll be glad you did!
